Well tax season is actually over and I have enjoyed a few days off. Now I am back at work and available for any Peachtree issues that may occur as well as regular posting to the blog.
Remember we have our quarterly Peachtree Users Group meeting on Tuesday morning, April 29. Please contact our office 608-274-4020 or www.wegnercpas.com for additional information.
In early Feburay I posted a discussion on whether you should upgrade to Peachtree 2008. Now my advice is WAIT FOR PEACHTREE 2009! Sage was offering some pretty attractive prices for customers to upgrade to 2008 last month. However, Peachtree 2009 will be released in a couple weeks. I will be attending the Peachtree annual conference at the beginning of May and I will get to see it live. I have already participated in a webinar that highlighted the features in Peachtree 2009. Once of the most exciting features that Peachtree 2009 will introduce is the ability to report on historical financial data beyond the two open years in both the general ledger and the financial statements. This is obviously a response to user requests. I will be able to tell you more about it when I come back from the conference, but I saw screen shots of this feature and it is what we have been wanting! (By the way, I will post to the blog while I am at the Peachtree conference so watch for that information the week of May 12).
Other enhancements include an improved payroll set up wizzard with a much more user-friendly employee maintenance screen. For those of you who use Peachtree Payroll this will be a significant improvement. And for customers running out of user licenses, the Peachtree 2009 Quantum version will more than double the number of simultaneous users allowed.
Look for more postings soon!
